My path to yoga is strewn with off cast ballet slippers, tap shoes, jazz shoes and aerobics shoes. Finally, I arrive on my mat with bare feet ready for a new journey. I dabbled in various styles of yoga until I found Baron Baptiste’s Vinyasa Flow. I stepped into this practice and never looked back. I complete the Los Angeles based Yoga Works teacher training program and I am eligible for the 200 hour Yoga Alliance teacher certification status. Additionally, I have completed two teacher training intensives, one with Baron Baptiste and one with Lisa Black and Peter Avolio of Shakti Vinyasa Yoga. Currently, I am studying with Lisa Black and Peter Avolio in their Teacher Assisting Program (TAP).

Teaching yoga is a way for me to “pay it forward”. If I can inspire other students in their yoga practices to find the best within themselves, then I will be able to pass along the gift that my teachers have given to me. So often, we think yoga is about self improvement, but not really. It is more like polishing a beautiful piece of silver that has gotten a bit tarnished over the years. Our yoga practice is the work we do to rub of the tarnish; the beautiful silver is already present.
