Qi Gong & Tai Chi
Qi gong and Tai chi are softer body, mind and spirit practices developed in ancient China. The class combines meditation and movement to improve and maintain health. These ancient art forms are designed to cultivate the body’s energy or vitality (known as “chi” or “qi”) through gentle, graceful, repeated movements that focus on energy flow. Participants will experience improved posture, balance, coordination and flexibility, along with greater self-awareness and empowerment through regular practice.
Classes include detailed teachings each week. Beginners and drop-ins are welcome and will easily fit in. Qi gong and Tai chi practices incorporate a series of separate movements that are connected together into a specific order to help enhance and increase energy flow in the body. Emphasis will be on both core muscle strength and the use of martial art methods to increase tendon, fascia and muscle strength and softness. Wear loose clothing.
