PATIENCE SCHOENE

“It’s your outlook on life that counts. If you take yourself lightly and don’t take yourself too seriously, pretty soon you can find the humor in our everyday lives. And sometimes it can be a lifesaver.” – Betty White

From her mother’s love of ballet and musical theater to her stepfather’s blue grass band, Patience was always surrounded by music and movement. As a young girl she was immersed in ballet, tap and jazz and competed as a teenager in both tap and lyrical styles. When she moved to Seattle to attend the University of Washington, she took up aerial hoop and burlesque forms and performed along the west coast for 6 years.

Now retired from performing, Patience is excited to bring the passion nurtured through 20 years of dance training and experience to Community Fitness. Her classes are inclusive and upbeat, and she hopes students leave feeling empowered and more connected with their bodies. She is an active member of the Comic Strip dance collective.

Patience currently lives in Seattle with her husband and four rescue Chihuahuas. She tries to work creativity into all aspects of her life, from dance to vegan cooking and even dressing up the dogs.

A little-known fact about Patience is that she is a huge fan of all things Sci-Fi and Fantasy and is actively working to be published in the genre.
