What’s Happening at Community Fitness?

Hello wonderful Community Fitness community! We know there’s a lot going on in your lives, which is why we want to give you a quick update of the latest and greatest at CFit. Read on for amazing events and fun announcements.

Look how happy Treading Lightly makes CFit member Julie Paschkis!

FIRST AND FOREMOST, a big contrats (drumroll please…) to Julie Paschkis, the winner of the first month of our Tread Lightly Challenge! We know lots of you out there are doing your part to reduce your ecological footprint by biking, walking, carpooling and busing to class, so thanks to ALL who are participating. Most importantly, don’t give up! The Tread Lightly Challenge continues through the end of August, so you’ve still got two weeks to rack up those raffle tickets and increase your odds of winning a free month of membership each time you Tread Lightly. Don’t know how? Read this.

Nunnamed (1)ext, check out our events page for some exciting opportunities! We’ve got internationally-known Zumba instructor Jhon Gonzalez in town teaching a master class right here in our  studios, and it’s definitely something you won’t want to miss. Originally from Colombia, Jhon has lived in Miami and is now based out of LA, so you’ll have a chance to add some new flavor to your moves, not to mention shake it with a member of LA Dance Fit. In the words of our own Zumba instructor Daren Wade, who tooks Jhon’s class in LA, “Jhon’s class is high energy, sweaty-fun, and on fi-yuh!” Pre-registration to reserve your spot is required. Finally, we are offering another Teen and Tween yoga class with Karen Bullard, beginning September 17. Remeber how stressful growing up can be? We certainly do…considering we are still growing up. The concepts of mindfulness and the postural techniques that come with the practice of yoga can be beneficial to anyone, but this 8-week series focuses specifically on introducing them to those ages 11 to 16. Karen’s life as a yoga instructor and full-time mom inspired her to create this series and bring these teachings to youth!

One more note – thanks to all our community members for bearing with our reduced summer schedule. We know how frustrating it can be when your favorite class gets canceled, but we always anticipate adding classes, old and new, back in the fall. Stay tuned!

As usual, we welcome questions and feedback and value your input. Feel free to email us frontdesk@communityfitness.com or call us at 206-523-3363.
