Tabata at CFit is a high-intensity strength and cardiovascular training class that will push your body to the edge. This class will utilize a variety of exercises in Tabata intervals to increase your aerobic capacity, anaerobic capacity and resting metabolic rate. In simple terms, you will burn a ton of calories, get stronger, leaner and overall healthier.

Any exercise can be incorporated into Tabata training. The interval outline is always a ratio of 20 seconds of work to 10 seconds of rest, repeated eight times. The four-minute sets are followed by a minute of rest, so that you will be ready to work hard again!

Tabata classes get their name and formula from a Japanese scientist, Izumi Tabata, and colleagues who developed this timed protocol with athletes in Japan. Tabata decided to conduct a study to compare moderate-intensity training with high-intensity training. They found that the athletes completing high-intensity training were significantly more successful and burned nearly 30% more calories than in traditional cardiovascular exercise.

This class is for those who want to take their workout to the next level. Participants can expect to increase overall cardiovascular fitness, endurance and fat loss, without losing muscle mass. Be ready to sweat, and wear athletic shoes that will grip the floor but allow you to move in different directions easily. No two classes are ever the same.

HIdden for now

I began my membership with Community Fitness about 3 years ago, prior to the pandemic, because I found out my favorite dance instructor was there, Medora Cesarano. Honestly, the joy and ‘frolic’ that exists in just that one hour is THE MOST addictive and magical experience I’ve ever had the pleasure of stumbling into.
