Amy Phillips

Amy Phillips Barre class Instructor Community Fitness

Amy’s Bio & Schedule

Amy was introduced to dance at the age of two and kept dancing all the way through college. She attended the University of Alabama, where she was captain of the nationally ranked Alabama dance team. After college, she pursued a career in sales, working with two different pathology companies in Alabama and Tennessee. While working, she was constantly looking for something to keep her active. Whether it was running, kickboxing, spinning, or just taking her golden retriever for a walk, she was always moving. She was introduced to barre fitness in 2008 and was instantly hooked, as it provided a channel straight to her inner dancer – in addition to providing a sweaty, upbeat, fatiguing workout.
After moving to Chicago in 2011, she was trained and began teaching barre, boot camp, cycling and interval classes. She loves teaching, but really enjoys getting to know her clients and helping them meet their fitness goals. She does this by providing upbeat, fun, energetic, heart-pumping workouts. Yes, she has that sweet southern accent, but don’t let it fool you! Her hardcore class will have you coming back for more!
